Grangewood Independent School, situated in the east end of London, was founded in 1979. We are a co-educational school that provides a unique and enjoyable educational experience for children from two to eleven years.

Our aim is to instil a sense of respect and discipline, develop excellence in academia, and to nurture the reverence of God in our children. We also aim to successfully inspire, motivate, and help our children to realise their full potential. From an academic, spiritual, social, and personal perspective, our focus is to continuously develop and empower our children. Furthermore, we enthusiastically nurture their moral values and integrity.

SCHOOL STATEMENT

The Governors and Trustees of Grangewood Independent School take seriously their responsibility to protect and safeguard the welfare of children and young people entrusted to the school’s care.  The Governors and Trustees expect all staff (this includes temporary staff, peripatetic staff, supply staff, part-time staff, work placement students, ITT students) and volunteers to share this commitment by demonstrating their understanding of how each individual adult working on behalf of the school has an active part to play in protecting children from harm and promoting their welfare. The Governors will ensure that persons with leadership and management responsibilities at the school demonstrate good skills and knowledge appropriate to their role and fulfil their responsibilities effectively so that the independent school standards are met consistently; and actively promote the well-being of pupils according to section 10(2) of the Children Act 2004(a).

Grangewood Independent is a Safeguarding School. We will invoke Child Protection Procedures where necessary.
