Grangewood Independent School, situated in the east end of London, was founded in 1979. Grangewood is a co-educational school that provides a unique and enjoyable educational experience for children from three to eleven years old.

 

Our aim is to instil a sense of respect and discipline, develop excellence in academia, and to nurture the reverence of God in our children. We also aim to successfully inspire, motivate, and help our children to realise their full potential. From an academic, spiritual, social, and personal perspective, our focus is to continuously develop and empower our children. Furthermore, we enthusiastically nurture their moral values and integrity.

 

In order to ensure that our children receive the individual attention that they deserve, teaching and learning take place within small class sizes. The best interest of our children is always at the centre of all that we endeavour to accomplish. Our children are happy, confident, and accustomed to establishing lasting relationships within a positive and peaceful atmosphere. We work closely with parents to identify, and inspirationally nurture, interests and talents in children. We help them to fulfil their full potential and cherish the support of and special relationship that we have with our parents.

 

All subjects of the National Curriculum are covered by our experienced and dedicated teaching staff, and our children make tremendous progress in their levels of achievements in Literacy, Mathematics and Science. We offer French across the board, and Spanish to the older children. All teachers at Grangewood utilise the interactive whiteboards in each class to facilitate learning and to enhance lesson delivery. We cater for the whole person and provide for our children’s spiritual development through our RE lessons and Christian assemblies; however, we do welcome children of other faiths.

 

We enthusiastically nurture the creative development of our children through classes that embellish imagination, while promoting individuality and self confidence. Our focus on creativity is extended by the way in which we promote physical development within our children. Our wide range of extra-curricular activities provide fun learning opportunities and development for our children within many areas including sport, art , literature, and music by way of lessons in a number of musical instruments.

 

We provide excellent after school care. This provides our parents with the peace of mind that their children are engaged in constructive play within a safe, happy, and inspirational environment, which is fundamentally based upon kindness, fairness and enjoyment.

 

Our school offers a stimulating and supportive learning experience built upon respect. We prepare our children for entrance exams, hence, after Grangewood, our children gain entrance to independent and state grammar schools, as well as the more popular state secondary schools.
